English is designed to develop students’ analytical, critical and communicative skills.  It encourages students to explore texts of different kinds in relation to the cultures that produced them.  It allows students to discover the scope of the discipline as it is practised worldwide today.

Choices include the following:

  • Creative Writing
  • Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature and Culture
  • Victorian Literature and Culture
  • Children’s Literature
  • Modern and Contemporary Literatures and Cultures
  • Literature and Film
  • Australian and Postcolonial Literatures and Cultures
  • Feminism and Literature
  • Narrative.
