History

History teaches students not only what happened, but to consider the motives, causes, patterns and consequences of events. Historical study develops distinct skills in:
  • examining primary sources
  • reading and evaluating evidence
  • argument.
History provides important lessons on the variety as well as the similarity of human experiences; change as well as continuity in societies, as well as present situations and problems.

Macquarie is highly regarded for its research in both modern and ancient history.
