These campaigns will be aimed at regional monitoring and excavation of select Thracian burial mounds in the province of Yambol, Bulgaria. Please note that this is a designated PACE opportunity and selected students will be expected to enrol in AHIS346: Archaeological Fieldwork. Selected students may be eligible to apply for a PACE Travel Grant for $1700 once enrolled in AHIS346. |
Any particular fields of study or skills? |
The Tundzha landscape archaeology programme will suit independent individuals who are physically fit, work well in team and have a good sense of humour. The work can be demanding both physically and mentally, and applicants need to be able to work under pressure, in a culturally and linguistically challenging environment. We provide extensive training on-site, but ideally the applicant will have successfully completed AHIS190, AHIS290, or similar. |
